Postdoc & Graduate Student Research Talks & Coffee Breaks

This event is from the archives of The Notice Board. The event has already taken place and the information contained in this post may no longer be relevant or accurate.

The School of Graduate Studies & Office of Postdoctoral Research are excited to launch a new event series this summer – SGS hosted coffee breaks with research talks by University of Lethbridge postdoctoral fellows. Please join us!

Event Details

All coffee breaks will begin with a 30-minute talk by a ULethbridge postdoc, followed by 15-minute Q&A session, and a 45-minute coffee break. Learn about the exciting research being done by our amazing postdoc community and perhaps forge new research connections within & beyond your department. No RSVP needed & all are welcome. While these events are targeted towards postdocs & graduate students, all members of the ULeth community are invited and encouraged to attend.

For Summer 2024, these events will be held on the second Tuesday of each month, from May – August.

Interested in giving a talk at a future coffee break?

Any postdoc or grad student interested in speaking can reach out to postdoc@uleth.ca or sgs@uleth.ca for more information. Take advantage of this opportunity to discuss your work with an interdisciplinary audience and get feedback on a talk about your research!

Graduate Student Advising

As with previous coffee breaks, SGS advisors will be present to connect with graduate students. Why meet with a student advisor? We can review your student file, answer questions & provide information related to:

· Course work requirements

· Program milestones (thesis proposal, PhD comprehensive exams, etc.)

· Course inquiries (independent study, Western Deans Agreement, taking undergrad courses, etc.)

· Supervisory committees

· Program extension & leave requests

· Master's to Doctoral program transfer process

· Final thesis exam & program completion

· Other issues related to your program!
